Listening to the radio after a looong time

Hello, hello, yes its midweek crisis... Aaaahh.... No clues what to do... I am back listening to the radio after a looong time. Radio Indigo 91.9 FM. The thing is I feel, Radio City 91.1FM has stopped playing English music. Thank god there is 91.9 FM.. Well, some cool songs over here Natalie Imbruglia, Def Leppard etc etc.... Btw can you hear BEP - Black Eyed Peas singing Dont Lie??? I can, awesome band, awesome song... Fergie, Will I am and gang..

Do you believe, I got a Moser Baer DVD of the movie Jab We Met.. courtesy my brother..I love movie, have watched it 3 times already. Love to watch it over and over again.... What say....

Cheers,

Weekend, weekend, all the way

These days, I am not blogging regularly. don't know why.. whenever I do blog, I only write about my weekends... So here another one.. This weekend was kind of ordinary. Totally lazy, no work.. I did study a little bit. Watched Austin Steven's on Animal Planet, after that was lucky enough to find out that, The Chronicles of Narnia Part 1 was being shown on a disney channel. Well I wish I could have seen that fully. I did manage to see a bit of the movie , say 25%, but as my mom was scolding me for watching the television for so long,I had to give up. But one thing is for sure. I love the movie, esp Part I.
In the evening at dinner time, I also watched a part of the movie, Anaconda.
Well quite a ordinary as well as interesting weekend for me. So till next time..

Cheers,

Watched a movie

Well... I did really watch a movie a few days back. The Chronicles of Narnia Part 2- Prince Caspian. Could not understand much, without the subtitles, the DVD being a pirated one( I am talking abt sound quality) and also considering the fact that I joined 25 mins late. But never the less nice time pass.

The speakers near the sofa set @ my place seem to be absolutely rotten, since these days, I end up watching movies over Pirated DVD, no 5 channel o/p. (No wonder)

I am all set to relocate to a new office. I am currently opposite to IIMB. Moving to JP Nagar 3rd phase, near Delmia.

Here s a list of my work locations over a period of 2 years 9 months.

-> Kundalahalli
-> Electronic City
-> MG Road.
-> Kormangala.
-> Embassy Golf Links
-> Bagmane Tech Park.
-> Sarjapur Road.
-> Bannerghatta Road.
-> JP Nagar 3rd phase.

And to be honest I ve met so many wonderful and awesome people in these three years.

[ Life is so beautiful, indeed !!!!!]

Its weekend time, I am looking for some books this time one by Robin Sharma and some technical books as well. Lets see, I need to read a lot...

Cheers,

Set the post time

After an year of blogging, I have set the " entry post time " to Indian Standard Time. Not sure, why it took me 1 year to do that.

Cheers, Its 8:10 in the morning.....

When will the markets hit 20K again?

Not sure what will I do, if that happens, but at this very moment, only thing I can say is I have stopped buying/selling shares. Don't know what happened to my mutual fund. Sure, thats also under loss. How do I get back atleast what I invested? no clues as of now. Hoping the situation gets better. One of the companies in which I invested has closed. I am running under some loss. Want to bring the average loss down by investing some more, but I wont.

Well on the other hand, if I had some of that money, I would have bought an XBox (basic model) and would hopefully have had a great time playing games, esp GTA ViceCity.

Let's see whats in store. Inflation, steel sector, high prices, people getting fired from jobs, what else. What is the solution to this?

One of my friend told me, the simplest solution can be apply for H1, get out of India atleast for next 5-6 yrs. Earn a lot and come back.

I am not behind H1, nor doing Masters. I love to be in India , esp Bangalore.

Cheers,

Its very difficult to make a comeback !!!

Yes, this is what I realized today. Its really very difficult to make a comeback, in any field.
I made a comeback at the gym today. In other words I re-debuted. It had been almost a month since I had quit gym.

Owing to my total frustration at [content supressed], this summer heat and taking into account even my laziness too, I had distanced myself from the gym. I had decided to come back strong someday, hopefully the day has come, its today.

On the technical front, yes I have made a sort of comeback, with some inspiration from some of my friends. I have started reading, studying and coding a lot these days. I thank god for keeping me going all these days. I love to blog more here. Hopefully I started reading some fiction soon.

Also forgot to mention, today I almost ran continuously for about 15 mins without a break. Can you believe that. I had almost stopped running on the treadmill since 2 months. ( 1 month I was out of gym and the month prior to that the treadmill had broken down). I cant believe it myself.

I started running on a new treadmill in the gym and found it very good, infact great. Hoping to run more. I have changed my gym schedule. I would be going to the gym every evening from now on.
God give me more strength.

Cheers,

I did watch a movie this weekend : Krazzy4

Hello Hello, yes I did watch a movie this weekend, well not @ the nearest theater, but at home. (I am an all time lazy guy, any doubts over that).

Before that, I would like to say, I have been out of touch with technology off late. Its almost a month, I am not at my best. I am not studying, nor doing side projects. I am only reading and forgetting things, to be honest, not at all coding these days. I don't know why.

On weekends too, spend lots of time sleeping, watching TV(which I should stop at once.)

Seems weird. Somehow I am regrouping myself. Hopefully I will be back with full swing May 1, onwards. I would love to have a copy of " Getting Things Done " by David Allen, and read through it. Someone please give me a copy.

This weekend I got to see Krazzy4. Well don't know how the movie is rated. But the movie did remind me of certain things which I used to do during my teenage days.

I definitely remember, during school days, when I used to pray before eating food and at the end of each day before leaving school, I used to stand up and sing the National Anthem of India. Wow those were the best days of my life. Wish I could live those days one more time.

Well after watching Krazzy 4, I can say one thing, The National Anthem of India, is so so beautiful. !!!!!!!

Proud to be an Indian .

Here 's wishing Subba ALL THE BEST

On April 18 2008, one of my closest friend, also parted ways with Wipro. I met Subba Rao, on my first day at Wipro, Electronic City. He is one ex-Wipro-ite I knew from my first day at Wipro till my last day.

After completing induction @ Wipro, we were fortunate to be in the same team @ Wipro MG Road office. After completing close to 2 months at Wipro MG Road, I moved out to different company altogether(not out of Wipro), on Jan 16 2007, but Subba still continued at Wipro.

Finally in the month of May 2007, Subba moved to the same company. Its almost one year to that day, our learning curve was its all time best. Meeting some of the best people in the industry, I can proudly say 2007, was our year. Finally after a brief stint, we moved back to Wipro Sarjapur on Nov 11, 2007.

Since then it was thorough testing time for me. I was reading like anything, hoping to move out of Wipro soon. I did find some success in the form of offers from ********* ******** (content suppressd, looks like I am boasting about myself) . I moved out Wipro on 3 March 2008.

Subba Rao has been a great help to me all through my stay at Wipro. And especially on my last day, when I was struck with all kinds of problems. Thank you Subba.

Now its Subba 's turn, he s going to join a new company as well.

Here s wishing all the very best to him.

Out of touch

Its since quite sometime, that, I have not posted regularly. Well, life s going on as usual, but little more exciting after I left Wipro, coz the salary factory comes into picture..... He He He.

Above that, my planned trip with my cousins also got dropped. So no plans of going out of town. Only option left with me is to be more geeky, nerdy and techie.

There s loads of new things to learn these days, a lot more coding, and loads of time to study as well.

I wish to keep on posting more. Lemme see.

I am trying to bring in people for the trip. Lemme see, how much do I succeed, since its ELECTION time in Karnataka, so people are not ready, also some of my cousins are busy with studies/work.

By the way the places which I may look to visit are:
1. Kasargod
2. Coorg
3. Kukke Subrahmanya, Charmadi Ghat.
4. Hospet, Hampi.
5. Kalasa, Chickmaglur.
6. Yeracud.
7. Pondicherry.

Celebrating 1 year of blogging

It was last year (2007), around this time, I started to blog. It was none other than Arvind who encouraged me to write. And after reading The Diary of Anne Frank , quite recently, my love for blogging has just got doubled.

Here's congratulating myself on completing one complete year of blogging.

I wish to post more, also lots of photos from my DSC H7....

Cheers....

Updates from my side - My new workplace

My recent updates include details about my new work place....

Yes Yes Yes, I quit Wipro on 3 March 2008 and I have joined Honeywell Technology Solutions Lab on 5 March 2008. I have gotten a single day off and to be honest, my back's breaking.... I need a break guys. Hopefully I go out on a trip on May 1, since its a holiday for me. I will definitely post some pics if I do go out. You can look out for that.

By the way I am badly missing some of my ex-colleagues. Mridul, Aru, Subbu, where are you guys!!!!!..

So far so good... Honeywell definitely rocks !!!!

Cheers

Get the Message

Well.. One more interesting post for the weekend. I hope you are done with enough comments on my previous post, (10 years of not doing something).

" Get the Message ", the title seems really eye catching. It is !! It was this week's flavor of the program on VH1. The program was VH1- The Big Weekend.

As soon as I saw the program, I thought of bringing in a post here. Why?? Wait, Wait, I will tell you. Before that, let me tell you, there were some awesome, supercool songs playing out there. If you are a western music enthusiast, you have missed a ton.

Plenty of good songs, but the motto was a " A song with a message was being played ". Here were some of the numbers.
1. Phil Collins - Another Day in paradise.
2. Sole Asylum - Runaway Train.
3. Micheal Jackson - Heal the World.
4. U2 & GreenDay - The Saints are coming.
5. Billy Joel - Piano Man
6. John Mayer - Waiting on the world to change.
7. John Mayer - Daughters.

etc etc.....

I have been heavily criticized for being a western music enthu. People generally pitch in saying " Angrez ke Aulaad "... They have forgotten that they studied in English medium school.

I would like to say, why I am a huge western music fan, I think every song has a clear cut message. Each song just peps me up to do better, to get motivated. The band U2, Bono, motivates me the most. There are no second thoughts on that.

Hence I generally prefer to listen to these songs, than those songs which only speak about, love, love breaks, marriage, marriage failure. I don't say I really hate all those . I even like some songs which are inspirational.

But about rest of the songs, which are mostly about LOVE , LOVE , LOVE , I really hate it. Enough guys, get something else, its been decades together of love songs.

When I saw this program on VH1, this weekend, I thought I was right in every aspect. Hence this post is here !!!!!!

By the way, March 30, is the birthday of a Rock n Roll, hall of fame 'r. Guess who ?? Its Mr. Eric Clapton. He was born on this day on March 30, 1945. I have been a huge fan of Mr Eric Clapton. So here's wishing him a very happy birthday!!!!.

By the way , Am I crazy, ?? Its up to you to figure it out...........

10 years of not doing something

This April, will mark 10 years of not doing something!!!! You might be astonished to hear, what ?? you may also call me a loser, blah blah, blah, but to be honest, do I care?? Not even for a single second.

It was in the month of April, the year being 1998, I last went to a theater to watch a movie, can you believe it? Yes you have to believe it.

I somehow have managed it, thats the truth. But to be honest, I have not even an inch interest to beat the Bangalore traffic just to watch a 3 hr movie. People say, watching a movie at the theater, is altogether a different experience and quote you have missed the action.

What I say, is I don't care. I feel more comfortable watching a movie at my house, its what I have been doing all these days. But someday, I will have to go to a theater, though I am not interested, not for me but for someone else. Lets see. Till then, Cheers.

And by the way, you can call me a loser, no probs, since I don't care an inch ........ I am mine!!!

In a league of its own.

This weekend, I got to watch Taare Zameen Par. All I can say after watching the movie was that, " It was in a league of its own ". Chak De India, was also good, but TZP, was just too good. No wonder, it has bagged a handful of FILMFARE awards.

Also this weekend, I have fallen ill. I feel this week, was a memorable one, I had to say goodbye to lots of people and lots of places as well, I traveled a lot, worked a lot. I have some important updates, which I will be posting, hopefully next Saturday.

Till then Cheers.

I Love the 80's

Another weekend is here and I am as happy as ever. Loads of time for myself to unwind. How did I do that, well lots of sleep today along with loud snoring. I also got to watch a fabulous innings by Brendon McCullum who hit 6 "6's".

I gave the photo film for development and printing, recall, I did have a spare camera along with my digital camera, just for the that moment when I felt lazy enough to open and switch on my DSC H7. You would be wondering " How can this guy be as lazy as a sloth, having two cameras all because of laziness?? ". Yes its absolutely true, I do feel bit lazy to operate that big camera of mine, something which I was warned of before, but still I went for it. Well, its worth the money, no wonder.

Evening was as usual rocking, again in front of TV. This time I got to watch VH1- " Big Weekend" , guess what was the theme? , " I Love the 80's - HairDo's ". Basically there are different flavors to the " I love the 80's " theme.

1. I love the 80's - Rock
2. I love the 80's - Pop
3. I love the 80's - Movies
4. I love the 80's - HairDo's

Lots of songs of HairDo's, the one which I liked the most, was the one which I grew up listenting to, any guesses?

Yes, Maddonna, who else, and the song was " Like A Virgin ". What a video, what a song !!! worth the scoldings which I got for lazying around, the entire day.

By the way, I don't have any book to keep me occupied, looking for the following books:
-> Straight from the Gut -
-> Winning -
by - well you know who, I guess.......

Cheers,

Golden Words of Wisdom

The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.

Lessons learnt from " JAB WE MET "

Honestly speaking, JAB WE MET is one of the awesome movies I have watched in recent times. The story was spot on, the location was spot on , everything about the movie was just too good.

I watched in two parts. The first part was when it was shown on a popular television channel. I was watching the movie, when my cousin turned up, to invite my family to his house warming ceremony. I had already fallen in love with the movie, but this time could not help. I had to switch off the Television, but I dont regret it.

Then the coming week, I went to Dharwad to my cousin's marriage. Now too I could not watch the second part, the thought of which was really haunting me. Finally one fine weekend, I managed to watch the second part of the movie, and mark my words, it was worth the wait.

I ve learnt some lessons from the movie. Last time, I had put up a post about lessons learnt from Dil Chahta Hai. But it was an extract instead. But this time, its my learning curve. So here it goes. (Not many though)

1. Do things which make you happy and the things which you love the most.

Recollect, Aditya (Shahid) was fond of music, but finding no time due to his schedule. But after he met Geet(Kareena) , he re-realised his interest in music. btw what an awesome song, sung by....... I assume its by the Lead Singer of Silk Route. Correct me if I am wrong.

2. Balance personal as well as professional life.

I think its very mandatory to strike a chord between the two. Else you will forget to enjoy life while you chase your dreams and aspirations or you will forget your professional aspirations.

Recollect how Shahid performs @ his peak, after he returns from Manali.

3. To speak your heart out, listen to others' worries , speak about your worries.

Recollect, how Shahid feels when he flushes out the pic of his ex-girlfriend who married someone else. Well its really important to speak out to someone, tell your concerns, and at the same time listen to others worries as well.

4. To take a break, from work and travel.

After I watched the movie, I just felt the importance of taking a break from work. You can travel or do something creative.

5. To completely own your decisions.

This is one of the most awesome things which I came across watching the movie.

Recollect what Kareena tells when they are planning to make an elope from her house. To take decisions that your heart tells, and to own them completely and later, not to blame anyone for the decision.

Well, I want to re-iterate about #1.

1. Do things which make you happy and the things which you love the most.

The thing which I love to do the most, is to crack Jokes. The jokes which I utter is completely spontaneous and has nothing to do with any sorts of preparation. Above all, I do it most, when I meet cousins. But the saddest part is my brother absolutely hates it. He once said " Do you even remember that you are a Software Engineer, and work _ _ _ _ _ ". Well dont know what to make out of it. One thing's for sure, There's no stopping me when it comes to jokes, esp POOR JOKES !!!

Cheers, bye for now !!!

Switching ends !!!

Funny post, no meaning though, but after all its MY BLOG baby !!!!.

Well for the first 15 years of my life, I resided at Malleshwaram. Then on I moved to Bangalore South.

My cousin resided for many years at Jayanagar 9th Block . Now he has moved to Nelamangala since .

This time around, when I visited my cousin's place (on the occasion of house warming ceremony of his new house), I decided to have a casual chat about how he travels to his work place and how I travel to my workplace. The thing which came to light was quite surprising.

He started telling me about my house which I resided in Malleshwaram and I started telling about the house in which he resided in Jayanagar.

Guess what, incidentally he travels to his workplace everyday passing by my house @ Malleshwaram and I travel to my workplace everyday, passing his house @ Jayanagar 9th block.

Aint that supercoooool !!!!!

Goo Goo Dolls - Here is Gone

Phenomenal song by the 3 piece outfit called GOO GOO Dolls, from the album " Gutter Flower" .

John Reznick Rocks!!!!

A DECADE LONG WAIT !!! What it is???

Well, wondering what it is ?? Yes its almost a decade, since I last visited the Vijaya Vittala temple @ Tumkur Road, close to Nelamangala. It was in 1997, I had been there. I just loved the place. The Gitopadesham, Vishnu Avataara, everything was just spot on. Mythology at its very best.

Since then I have traveled along Tumkur Road, a lot many times, but never found the opportunity to visit the temple. Now in 2008, I revisited the temple, just to find out, nothings' changed in the past 10 years.

I had been to my cousin's place @ Nelamangala. Incidentally it was the house warming ceremony of his new house. On my way back home, I headed to the Vijaya Vittala temple. The first thing I uttered in front of the Lord was " Thanks god for keeping me alive and kicking for 10 years. " . It just came automatically. So finally the decade long wait is over. I wish I visit the temple more frequently.
