The Live Earth Concert is a 7 continent concert series taking place on 7/7/07. Its assumed that 100 artists are to perform as a part of this concert all for one cause, unity against global warming. i was watching many artist perform at this very day, but one band stole the show with awsome drumming and fabulous guitar play.
It was " The Police ". The Police is a three piece outfit formed in 1977 and which split in 1986. But in 2007 they re-united to mark the 30th anniversary of the band.
I was totally impressed by their live performance especially the song "Roxanne" and "So Lonely" . I ve made most of my weekend, ie 7th july 2007, had a wonderful time watching the concert which was telecasted on Vh1.
I hope my post about global warming, did bring in some serious truth about our own planet earth. So its time everyone played a part in reducing the emission of green house gases. I end this post on a happy note ,as on this very day " The Taj Mahal " has found its place among the seven wonders of the world.

Global Warming - A threat to mankind
Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the earth.
As a result glaciers are melting, sea levels are increasing, there is destruction to wildlife.It's clear that humans are responsible for the past century's warming by releasing heat-trapping gases as we power our modern lives. These gases are called the greenhouse gases.
The "greenhouse effect" is the warming that happens when certain gases in Earth's atmosphere trap heat. These gases let in light but keep heat from escaping, like the glass walls of a greenhouse.

First, sunlight shines onto the Earth's surface, where it is absorbed and then radiates back into the atmosphere as heat. In the atmosphere, “greenhouse” gases trap some of this heat, and the rest escapes into space. The more greenhouse gases are in the atmosphere, the more heat gets trapped.
Carbon dioxide is the most important green house gas. It takes 100 years for CO2 emission to disperse. Driving your vehicle and leaving house lights adds on CO2 quickly.
Regarding my bit to avoid global warming, I ve involved myself in planting lots of saplings over the past 7 years some of them have grown into trees. There are lots of trees in my locality courtesy the Forest Department. There are lots of nurseries close by where in I could get some of the best saplings. Apart from this I do have a solar water heating system and have avoided the use of incandescent lamps where ever possible.

Its the 7th of July, the year being 2007, i am witnessing one of the biggest concerts ever to fight the climate crisis. Its a unique concert and a unique concept, intended to drive individuals, corporations and governments to take action to solve global warming.
I wish to come up with a 2 post series where in the first post I give a brief intro to global warming and my bit of action against global warming . The second post is about the concert and one of the bands which re-united for a cause and indeed stole the show with their awesome performance. Then band is none other than " The Police " , yes Sting and the gang.
