Its been almost a month since I made my blog private. The main reason behind it was, I did not want someone to read it. (let me be more specific about it.. its a female). Now that the other people who read my blog (mostly the gentlement) are rest assured that its not them, I would like to iterate that, I had expressed extreme anger in my posts for this particular person. Hence thought of avoiding the posts going public.
Since I had no options, I ended up making the blog itself private. Now that one month has gone by, I have suddenly realized, I have not blogged lately. I feel, I need to write more. Just for the few posts where in I express anger over this particular person, I ve nothing else to hide.
So moved those posts into a new blog altogether, so that I did not lose track of those posts. Now back to blogging where everything is public.
Loads to write about, my recent trip to Yercaud Hogenekal.
Cheers,
Sandeep

A reason not to post
For the past few days, I have not blogged anything. In the first four months of this year, I had lots to write about. Now all of a sudden I seem to have gone quiet.
Also, I have turned my blog private, with access only to a few people. Is that the reason not to blog. I feel its one of the reasons. The other reasons include,
> Lack of interest at workplace.
> My hatred towards travelling to ITPL.
> Not luck when it comes to finding new jobs.
So these are the reasons.
May 1st I am planning to go out of Bangalore, with my cousins. I feel the trip is confirmed. Waiting for May 1.
Hope to blog something before that.
Till then,
Cheers,
Sandeep

Sony Music System.
After so many days of speculation, went ahead with a music system and speakers. It left me poorer by Rs 12850.
So here are the components.
> Sony Music system.
> Sony Speakers in the front.
> Plok Speakers in the back.
Hopefully I will enjoy my long drives hence forth.

Came home late... :(
Today our ITPL bus Route 1A, managed to kiss an Innova near Nirmala Stores, BSK Ist stage. The bus was stopped after few metres. The innova driver was quite co-operative, after all it was his mistake, he came too close to the bus.
At the end re-realized, driving huge vehicles comes with loads of responsibility. I was telling everyone, that I love to drive a Bolero, but frankly speaking, it comes with loads of responsibilities.
Will sure try to drive better in near future.
Cheers,

Tyre update
I had posted about my flat tyre two posts back. So thought of going to a tyre shop and all of a sudden yesterday, visited a tyre shop at Hosakerehalli. Asked about the damage and solution. Incidentally, the tyre had taken a hit while being run over a sharp stone / object and developed a tear.
Unfortunately, the tyre cannot be replaced, since it was not a manufacturing defect, is what, the guy at the shop told. So with no option, requested for a tyre repair. He told about some process or melting the tyre and fixing it, could not understand even an inch of what he said about the repair. The whole thing would cost about Rs 350 and so, just went for it.
I had one particular doubt, I have driven 1300 kms on my car, I did not expect a tear such early, for which he said, he had seen tyres which have taken a hit from a sharp object, on cars, which are not even registered. So I was indeed lucky.
Second thing I was lucky about was the puncture happening right in front of my house. Now I wonder, how would it be in the middle of nowhere, sweating it out, trying to replace a flat tyre. Yes, quite difficult.
Here's praying for no more flats.
Cheers,
Sandeep

Is watching IPL fun or boring ??
Was wondering about this question. IPL has moved back to India. Saw the scores of a couple of matches, being excess of 200. Just got a thought in my mind. The score of each match is becoming more and more predictable. Since there is no swing, seam nor spin, its a batters paradise. Adding to the misery, the dew factor pitches in.
Is it really worth watching or following it?
Not sure.

Lessons learnt on Ugadi...
Well, learnt two important lessons on Ugadi day.
First being how to replace a flat car tyre. Good learning.
Second one being an embarassing one. I went out in a car to a store, without carrying a mobile and ended up calling home from Re 1 coin booth.
Yes, I headed to a store in my car, as I had some work. In midway, not only I had to call the store owner, also my house. Without a mobile I did not have much choice, ended up calling from a coin booth. Felt a bit embarassing. But yes, such is life. Time and again you ought to remember where you are coming from.
Wrt to a flat tyre, I had a puncture just opposite to my house. I was lucky it happend in front of my house, since it was the first time. Sadly found out a crack on the side of the tyre. Not sure how it has happened. Hopefully I can replace it at the showroom with a new one for minimal cost, if its a manufacturing defect.
But also learnt how to replace a car tyre. Did it within 25 mins. A feat in itself, considering the fact that, I did it all alone reading from the manual and it being the very first time.
Now on I can do it even quicker. Hopefully no more flats, here's praying to GOD.
Cheers,
Sandeep

Me being a huge fan of Mark Knopfler, could not resist posting this video. Love this song.
New Seat covers @ Ceralli Automotive
Finally after few months, I thought about going in for a seat covers for my car. Choices were lot. I had heard about some cheap seat covers costing Rs 1500 and some good seat covers, at the showroom for Rs 5000. I even thought it would be the same else where.
So had noted down an advertisement in the newspaper about a shop which does seat covers.
When I went there, saw two types of seat covers. Pure leather, costing Rs 20K. And seat covers which are non leather, not sure about the material, will write about it soon. Pure leather costed Rs 20K and the other one Rs 8.5 K for my car.
And yes there were loads of customers. I had gone with 5K worth seat covers in my mind, now 8.5K was the minimum Somehow I did not think twice. I gave and advance of 1K and the color being beige and ash. I am bad at remembering suffs, Will surely edit this post once I recollect the color combination and the material.
Alongside seat covers also ordered for a arm rest worth 1.5K. Thought it would be helpful on highway drives. Frankly speaking, its worth for highway driving only. City driving needs so much of gear change, there is no scope for resting your left arm on that.
[ Moreover, my gearshift is not that buttery that I can move around with a finger. I need to use a lil bit force (lil bit mind u ). at least to shift to first and second gears, rest gears I can manage with palm with minimal force. ]
The good part is that its attached to the passenger seat, and is foldable. And yes, it adds very much comfort to the passenger in the front.
So overall a pretty nice experience.
The showroom being Supreme Overseas Leather Garments. (Ceralli).
The shop is located at BSK II nd stage, near Upahara Sagar.
Will put up pics sometime soon.
Cheers,
Sandeep

How important is it to read instruction manual ?
Frankly speaking, I am a kind of lazy person. In real life I come across many devices and stuffs many of which have instruction manuals. So just wanted to write about Instruction manuals of those devices. Unfortunately I do not read instruction manuals. Even if I read, I do not remember most of the instructions on how to operate and blah blah blah.
Unfortunately not reading instruction manual is a big big drawback. Reading and forgetting is like a sin. I have installed Central locking / Keyless entry onto my car. The key chain has 3 buttons. Two of which are to arm / lock and disarm / unlock.
When you either try to arm or disarm there is a siren which beeps twice before the door gets armed / disarmed. Since few days, I found out that, there was no siren, but the door was getting armed / disarmed properly. Even the buzzar while taking reverse was not effective.
I thought and thought and decided that I shall visit the showroom today and check if there is a fault. Minutes before leaving for the showroom, I had to gather the warrantly form for the central locking thing. It came alongside the instruction manual.
To my surprise there were lots of permutations and combinations with 3 buttons as such.
And when I went through the instruction set, I found
" Pressing ARM and DISARM buttons simontaneously would turn off the siren ". In other words its meant for silent ARM and DISARM.
So pressed the same two buttons in the same fashion and yes, the siren was up and running.
Phew saved some fuel and time for me and yes, some grace as well. Else people at showroom would have thought " Ohh this guy seems to be an illiterate ?? "...
Hmm, whatever...

Blogger Wishlist
A few days back, I removed one of my posts from the blog, since a search using my current company name, ie my workplace, yielded my blog post as result.
I just wondered for a moment, was there a way to make specific posts obscure from search engines. Its possible to make an entire blog post entries to be unfound on a search engine. But can it be applied post by post. Not sure, but just a wish :)-

Drove my heart out, on a highway.. What a way to welcome weekend. :)
As per my yesterday plans, I was supposed to drive out on Mysore Road, today. Yes I indeed drove for about 135 kms to be precise. The whole yesterday night, I spent GTA 4, I slept late at around 12 30 am, aware of the fact that I was supposed to leave home by 5 am for the drive.
Sadly, I could wake up only at 5 45 am. So left home at around 6 10 am. As I approached Mysore Road, got an idea of a different route. Thought about driving to DoddaAladaMara, The Great Banyan Tree.
So looked around for Amrut Distilleries and Rarajeshwari Dental College, took a right turn and proceeded towards Ramagondanahalli. I thought of returning back once I reach The Great Banyan Tree. But somehow keep on driving and reached Magadi instead.
The road was good one, lots of curves, overtaking was a bit pain, as well as giving way to others. But quite a nice scenary all around the road. So finally reached a fork where there a sign saying Kunigal 22 kms left, Dabaspet 34 kms right.
Thought and thought and finally decided to go for Dabaspet, since Kunigal way too far. So took the road to Dabaspet and in between took a right turn to Nelamangala.
Unfortunately there were no sign boards, and finding exact route was difficult. Finally managed to reach the National Highway and took a right turn which leaded me to the NICE road. And from there it took less time to reach home.
So this was my driving session for this week, thoroughly enjoyed driving but the heat was a bit of concern.
Cheers,
Sandeep
PS:: Infact, there was nothing to cheer, as I came home, Since the ECS amount clearance on behalf of the car loan for month of Feb 2010, had not happend, HDFC guys had called up saying they will come home in order to collect cheque or DD for that. What crap, None of my fault , ECS problem whose fault, Grrrrr?
Got lots of scoldings from my parents for choosing HDFC bank for loan and clearing the loan from SBI bank.

Obsessed with driving
Not sure, how I came up with the title. But frankly speaking I love Mysore Road. Its simply superb. I have been living in this part of the town since almost 10 years. But its only since 2006 that I fell in love with Mysore Road. I just love to go out on a drive along Mysore road, quite frequently.
There were plenty of such occasions when I have been to places close to Mysore and stuffs, with cousins on a rented vehicle. But these days, I am more obsessed with myself driving along Mysore Road.
I love to drive every weekend along Mysore Road, I feel its the perfect way to unwind after a week's work. The smell of diesel on an early morning coupled with cool breeze plus the superb road. Its just irresistible.
Simply feels superb to hit the highway. So if any of you guys find me along Mysore Road, from Kengeri to Maddur, feel free, lets catch up over a cup of highway coffee.
Cheers,
Sandeep

Eventful day today :)
Today was an eventful day. Spoke to loads of people over the telephone. Overall I am happy, today being Friday and there are absolutely no worries. 2 days of time I get all for myself. Yes, its worth the 5 days of work, is all I can say.
Infact had charged up my mobile battery, but still was about to run out of charge.
There were some good news at the end of the day given by my friends. That even cheered me up.
As of now listening to
> Faith Hill - This Kiss.
> Phil Collins - Something happened on the way to heaven.
Cheers,
Sandeep
PS: Pls don't ask why was I speaking so much over the phone. Yes, the reason is obvious.

5 March, exactly 2 years before, on this very day
5 March 2008, was a significant day. It was on this day that I joined HTS Bangalore. I was very happy on that day. I was moving into a new company, closer to my house, very less travel etc etc.
Now 5 March 2010, I am even out of Honeywell, currently put up at SG , Bangalore. Learnt loads of things at HTS, met loads of interesting people, continued blogging, wrote some crazy programs on my laptop, above all, got a handful of salary, which really improved my economic condition.
Yes, I dreamt about the first step in the direction of higher salary @ HTS, It was fantastic, to have a good pay :) Infact achieved lots at HTS. Thanks to all my colleagues and managers over there. Also met a few fellow employees of HTS who also blog.
But life simply moves on. Here again, meeting some superb individuals, new projects and yes again, these events keep on repeating. Hopefully will continue blogging in future also. LOL :)
Cheers,
Sandeep

Coming home to a superb movie
As I came home today and switched on the television, I was in for a surprise. I was glad to see one of my favorite movies DCH being shown on one of the movie channels. Though I could not see the entire movie, but even bits and pieces of this movie just pushes me an extra mile ahead.
Its been 9 yrs since it released, even today I feel its fresh, I am ready to watch it again and again. Planning to play it the next time I go on a trip with my cousins. Hopefully my wish comes true in a month.

A so called IT Guy... :)-
These days I travel a lot everyday, infact 70+ kms in total. I do not find anything positive to write about my travel, I have posted few blog posts about me cribbing about moi travel. What else can I do.
There is nothing exciting about to blog about my workplace nor this travel. In this post I would like to write about the good manners of the so called IT guy / gal (not sure who it is) who works at ITPL and travels in the same shuttle or BUS (BMTC) as I do, route being ITPL / ITPB 4N, ITPL to Uttarahalli.
Every evening since the distance we travel is around 40 kms people get loads of food parcels and keep on eating all through the journey. At some point of time you will find either one or more people munching and munching on something. I ve no issues with this whatsover as long as you dispose the left over food, or wrappers properly. Properly means in a dustbin in your own house.
But this so called IT guy tends to leave behind a huge chunk of wrappers in the shuttle itself, hoping for BMTC staff to clean it off. Once I even asked that particular person to take his belongings, (I did not know it was left over food), to which the gentleman replied, it is the leftover of what I had eaten and carelessly went ahead and got down leaving behind his left over food wrapper in the bus itself. This is what pisses me off. Literate people littering here and there. No sense of ownership
No wonder its pathetic quality of code that ships from India, because, in every project you will find people littering in and around the source code, no proper ownership and responsibility.
What made me still more angry was, I saw an unattended wrapper of food parcel today morning. Yes, you can imagine, something you have eaten and thrown it in the BMTC bus which is not cleaned up in the morning. Though it was not stinking, but sad to see the pathetic mentality of the so called IT Guy.
You might be wondering, so many people travel in the same bus during the day, how would you say its the IT Guy.?? Well in the evening our's is the last trip. And yes, food parcels in the ITPB bus means its the gift of the IT guy.
Cheers,
Sandeep

Good old memories... yes a get-together of sorts.
After a year and a half finally met my college friend UKN. Sunday was a fantabulous day. Did loads of things apart from coding and playing games. In the evening met UKN and went for a treat at the Best club, shakti hill resorts. It was a long while since we 3 guys (UKN, Kranti and me) went out for a treat together. UKN being at onsite.
Relived few good old memories of college.
So this weekend was superb. Hopefully next weekend shall be the same. Will surely blog about the same.

Abba - Chiquitita
Phenomenal song by ABBA. Have been a fan of ABBA for over 2 decades. Can listen to their music over and over again.. for years..
what say?
Three idiots - Lessons learnt..
Finally I managed to watch the movie 3 idiots. No big deal on guessing how I managed to.
But all in all it was a good movie. Brought back memories of the book Five Point Someone, which I had read some years back. So here I am trying to write 2 - 3 points which I could take away from the movie as lessons.
> Choose whatever you love, as your work. As a result work will be more fun instead of usual work. There is no point being someone else, chasing interests none of which are ours.
> Journey is more important than destination. There is no point of being the best, if there is no fun on the way.
> Third point is about the interview. Till now I have given so many interviews, most of the interviews I have pretended to be someone else. Especially Managerial rounds, I find it very difficult, to clear without bluffing. So hence forth, I shall be more frank.
> Not to take things seriously, If not this job some other job, should be my motto hence forth. There is no point of crying over those companies which I could not join due to interview failures.
Cheers,
PS:: I hope I am an improved man. :P

What is right, what is wrong... ??
I have always keep wondering, what will I be doing in 10 years time. Sometimes, I tend to think too much into this topic. Some of my friends tell me, I am taking too much tension, this guy is tensed, blah blah. I keep on asking myself, what is in store for me over the next 10 years.
I do not have an answer for that. But still I end up thinking and thinking about it, wasting a lot of time.
I have blogged around half a dozen times may be, that I am interested in coding and coding only. I have even blogged about the market conditions here in India.
So has the time come to move out India in search of a new opportunity. I really do not know. I have changed so many companies in the last 4.5 years of work, that I feel, the word outsourcing is just a gimmick.
So many MNC's outsource their work to India, people are losing jobs in other countries because of that, keeps on buzzing here and there.
While doing engineering, I was dreaming that I would get loads of options to code. But but, never mind. I cant continue this sentence.
I do follow a few blogs on the internet. Frankly speaking, So I was going through one of the blogs of an software architect. In the comments section of one of the posts, I found a comment by a person, quoting, that he wanted to do MBA and move out of software jobs since, most of the jobs were outsourced.
The architect's reply was superb, saying there are plenty of jobs which are not outsourced. Yes, its true. The quality jobs are still not outsourced.
So now please tell me, is it right to move out the country in search of better quality jobs, (not sure you may land in that or not, but what there in trying), or persist in this so called Indian corporate ladder.
Not sure, why I am posting this again and again. I feel I am fed up. There is no other place to vent out my frustrations. What can I do?
PS::: I have changed so many companies, but whenever I join a new company in India, whatever may be the salary, the first thought that comes to my mind in the first two months is to quit.
I went to Goravanahalli temple to pray to God, to help me land in a job which I really love. I cannot adjust myself to the company, I can adjust myself only to my job and nothing else.

A visit to Goddess Mahalaxmi Temple @ Goravanahalli
This Saturday, was an awesome one, I shall remember it for a long long time.
Firstly, I went to Goddess Mahalaxmi Temple @ Goravanahalli.
Secondly. I drove a lot, a huge number of kms infact, 300kms infact, that too for Rs 500 worth diesel. Aint it incredible.
So let me tell you about the temple. Goddess Mahalaxmi Temple is at a distance of 110 kms from my house. The roads are superb. No trouble driving till there infact. I joined the National Highway at Jalahalli Cross.
I visited the temple for the first time. Fell in love with the place. I had a special prayer thing to ask to Goddess, the thing which I do not want to blog about here. I hope my prayers get answered. I wish to go the temple once again. Somehow I feel, I want to go there yet again. Not sure when that will happen. But till then good old memories I have.
So let me tell you about driving. I drove for 300 kms. The roads were absolutely beautiful. I had no issues driving. And I got a very good mileage. Though the overall distance was supposed to be ~ 200 kms, I drove a 100 kms extra to Janapada Loka and Kamat Lokaruchi.
But all in all wonderful experience, superb temple. Wish I be there sometime soon.
Cheers,

After so much criticism, finally some appreciation....
You guys might be wondering, what am I writing about. What criticism and what appreciation??
It has something to do with my car, which I purchased 3 months back. The car is Tata Indica Vista Tdi. A decision which I took on my own. I read so much about diesels and their maintenance related stuffs on the internet. Apart from that all my relatives own a petrol vehichle and most of them a Maruti vehicle in particular.
When I told them that I was keen on buying a Indica diesel, there was no one who really said, go ahead. They even told, the car is like a truck and there is loads of vibrations which can be felt. They even started suggesting Maruti car for me. But I was struck on to Indica and purchased the same, inspite of loads of criticism.
Now after 3 months, I met a person , who is driving a Maruti Alto and appreciated Indica Vista infact. He asked me what is the mileage, I told him about the usual city mileage and since I had predominantly driven on the highway recently I told him, for Rs 500 worth diesel, I had covered 265 kms on the highway.
He too appreciated the Indica Vista car for its space and superb engine. And yes when it comes to the Tdi engine, Tata's have the best as far as I know. No regrets about buying an Indica.
Cheers.

And then.. the pantry erupted.. with joy
Today was the final day of the second test match and RSA were almost about to snatch a draw to dethrone India from the #1 ranking. Around 3.45 pm many employees gathered in the pantry, most of them were guessing the test match would end in a draw. I had moved out of the pantry a few minutes back.
Two overs before the end of play, India was able to get the last wicket, and win the test match. And there was a huge roar from the audience in the pantry. That was a superb moment. I could hear the roar from a distance away. What a way to shout guys!!! that too at workplace...keep it going...

Shivaratri - A night to remember
We had an official holiday on the occasion of Shivaratri. So I was at home relaxing and chilling. Over the years I have some superb memories of Shivaratri. I have seen loads of people being awake all through the night.
I was staying at Malleshwaram for the first 15 years of my life, ie during childhood. Growing up in Malleshwaram is always special. That place is a different world altogether. Venkateshwara Bakery, Friends Circulating Library, Malleshwaram Railway Station, Mysore Lamps, Yeshwantpur APMC Yard, Malleshwaram 8th Cross, 18th Cross, Vylikaval, Govardhan Theater. these were some of my favorite spots. I was cycling to many of these places.
It was during Shivaratri on one such superb year, not sure which year. I saw a bunch of my friends playing cricket under streetlight, during the night, just to avoid sleep. I mean aint it awesome. No traffic, no noise, some stray dogs here and there, some drunkards here and there. I too played on the streets infact main roads for quite some time, before going to bed.
You might be wondering why I am writing about this particular thing. This Shivaratri too, after 10+ years, something similar happend. I saw a bunch of people playing cricket under streetlight on a vacant site. I mean, aint it awesome, it indeed brought back loads of memories of my childhood days which I spent at Malleshwaram.
Playing hide and seek in the dark, story telling in the dark, loads of other stuffs. These days, I hate to spend time in the dark, I mean during power cuts, those were the days, when I was wishing for a much longer duration of power cut.
Things have changed. I miss the good old days, Malleshwaram etc etc.
Cheers.
PS::: My favorite spots in the last 10 years.
Kengeri Satellite town, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Global village surround, Nelamangala above all home sweet home..

Listen to the radio
Long time since I actively tuned into 91.9 FM Radio Indigo. I have not been able to catch with newer rock songs off late. My knowledge about the latest hit rock songs, on the charts is absolutely zero.
[ Most part of my head is pre-occupied with travel from ITPL to Uttarahalli ].
I came home early today, and apart from reading some stuffs here and there I planned to listen to some songs. I wanted to listen to some songs apart from those on my mp3 player or those being played on the radio.
Heard So Far away from me , by Dire Straits, playing on the radio. Not sure whether its a slow rock song, but sure its a evergreen song :)-

Trying to interpret the meaning of OUTSOURCING....
Disclaimer:: The below post consists of only my thoughts and has nothing to do with any person or entity. All similarities are merely coincidential.
Here I am trying to interpret the meaning of outsourcing.. I am looking from a developers point of view. Where a person codes to bring up a new software into the market. Outsourcing can be considered as any software development work which comes to India. Please refrain from thinking about Maintenance or other stuffs.
I feel outsourcing is another gimmick. It is nothing but another management strategy to depict profits made due to outsourcing. Let me explain about the real project / product development. The project needs a lots of code to be written, the foundation needs to be built with some strong and steady code.
On top of this code, the developer codes more business logic or utilities which inturn make use of the foundation code. Every step either the coding related to foundation or code related to business logic, involves lot of design activity.
What I really feel is much of this core work never gets outsourced, I mean to say is much of the foundation is laid in places apart from India, what work comes to India is nothing but writing small business logic on top of the foundation.
Many people feel this should be more than enough. But the truth is the design aspect of this also is controlled else where and is not outsourced to India. What finally comes to our hands is writing of some code, which has been designed and approved by someone outside India.
So what outsourcing is really this ?? Its nothing but a gimmick where management asks to step up profits by outsourcing work to India. In the end you can imagine what work really comes to India.
If this is wrt to development related activity, you can imagine what about maintanence related stuffs.
If such work comes to India, where is the place for a person like me who likes to CODE.
There exists only Managers, and the only organization ladder which exists is the management stream, ie becoming a project manager.
Sad state of affairs, but what to do.

Usual Weekend
Its been another usual weekend. Nothing new, nothing exciting. I am wondering what to do to make stuffs interesting. I thought let me join a new organization. It will make me more enthu towards my work. But it turned out the other way round.
Drove yesterday for around 150 kms. Was kind of satisfied. But the everyday travel to ITPL coupled with the drive had made me tired to the core. Slept a lot yesterday. Lots to look for this week. Including one holiday on Friday. Yippy.

Here are some of the pics whilst playing GTA4, phenomenal game, enjoying every bit of it. Some of the cars which I drive in the game. The picture in the middle was a mangled car, which was refusing to move.. :)

My New PC Game, GTA4.
I have seen the game GTA since many years. I have not been able to play the game even once, because of some issues wrt to hardware requirement and stuffs like that.
Now that I have a good PC, I have started playing the 4th edition of the game.
Frankly speaking, GTA 4 has phenomenal graphics. Worth playing. I wish I get more time to play and play.
Way to go RSG.
Cheers,
PS:: My brother is playing another edition of GTA, San Andreas :P
Regarding NFS undercover went on with 15 levels, but soon realized none of the cars were getting unlocked. So moved to a new game altogether.

A New post out of no where
Amidst all these travelling which I do from Uttarahalli to ITPL, close to 70 kms a day, I somehow have found some time to write a new post. Otherwise I am in no mood to write anything these days.
Most of the time, I shall be cribbing about my pathetic decision to join a company in ITPL.
Now cribbing aside, here is some writing.
Close to my house is a dog kennel. A place which provides shelter for many dogs temporarily. Owners bring their pets here and drop them so that they can move out of town, without a worry about feeding the dog.
Over all these years, I have seen one strange dog behavior, that too about stray dogs. A locality may have few stray dogs wandering in front of the houses. But whenever a dog from a neighboring locality enters another locality, the dogs of the locality start chasing it and probably will even bite it. So there is never an open acceptance of dogs from other locality.
Now when I saw in this kennel, there were many dogs from many owners. All these dogs were quiet and they barked in unison. I was wondering how is this possible. The dogs though not stray come from different localities and are never aware of each others presence but still how could they get along so well.
Then I recollected the old saying in HINDI, " APNI GALI MEIN KUTTA BHI SHER HOTA HEY ".
So the rest is understood.
Cheers,

Long time since I actually blogged. Over the weekend, I purchased a new PC. And yes, after years of waiting, I am actually, unleashing the gamer in me.
Started with NFS Undercover. Cool one.. Will try to complete as many levels as possible before I start with another game altogether..

Solar Eclipse today
It was solar eclipse time today. I was told not to eat anything whole day long.
I leave my home for office at around 7 am. I ate my early morning breakfast at 6 45 am. Then I left for office. I did not have anything during office time. I came home around 8 10 pm and had dinner around 8 20 pm.
I am not boasting about my achievement. It was an extremely hard and difficult day for me. Not to eat anything, nor drink water all day long. I somehow managed to reach home.
I thank my teachers and God for whatever I am today. I cannot imagine how people lead a life where they cannot get food 2 times a day. I feel I am indeed blessed to have good food.
Thank you God.
Cheers.

Great to follow Robin Sharma on twitter..
I use twitter quite often. I do keep on tweeting whatver comes to my mind. I have a few people whom I follow on twitter. One of them is the great Robin Sharma. I have been a huge fan of Robin Sharma. Robin Sharma's book The Greatness Guide has truly and tremendously inspired me a lot.
I discovered something which I always wanted to do. That is coding. I owe a lot to Robin Sharma and his superb book.
Today one of his tweets had a superb message. I thought of blogging it over here.
Here it goes.I am copying it over here. I hope it inspires you too.. :)
"You risk everything by risking nothing." Donny Deutsch (read his book "Often Wrong, Never in Doubt")
Awesome, I recollect there are certain risks which I plan to take. Lemme see, how it works about. :)

Some things which I would love to do or want to do (whtever).
Here is a list of things which I would have loved to have done. But I haven't. Some of them are possible. Just need to make my mind.
1. I would love to be a geek, full time geek. All kinds of stuffs included apart from coding.
2. I would love to code for a lifetime. I have made up my mind. Only God or the Indian IT Industry can stop me in this.
3. I would love to write a tech blog, which includes side projects on .NET and stuff.
4. I would love to work on open source stuffs all by myself. Tools which get listed on codeplex. Some super project which is kind a new.
5. I would love to master WPF- Windows Presentation Foundation.
6. I want to be a hard core gamer. ( I have brought a new PC, need to check how much I can unleash the gamer in me.) I have enough fun unleashing the turbo charger in my car :P
7. I want to listen to radio on a constant basis.[ 91.9 FM ]
8. I want to drive out of Bangalore every weekend.
9. I have always loved to drive a Mahindra Bolero or a Tempo Trax aka Force Gama. These two are my dream machines. I know its literally impossible for me to own a Tempo Trax in town. I can someday think about Bolero though. As of now I cannot afford it, some day, I shall definitely drive a Mahindra Bolero :). [As of now more than happy with Indica TDI ]
10. I would love to move out of India, in search of better coding opportunities.
11. I would love to read more. Loads of fiction books and books pertaining to .NET and coding.
12. I would love to follow more blogs on sharpreader.
13. I would love to see my car giving a mileage of 16+ kms per litre diesel in city limits.
14. I would love to be a better human being.

How about this, for a career ?
Recently I came across a blogpost, on one of the technical blogs which I read. Let me give a short history about my blog reading interests.
As a developer I always loved to read blogs. I used to read a few of them. But after joining Honeywell, I began to read a bit more of them and then came SharpReader into picture and I started reading a whole lot of blogs. I still have my Exported Subscription file (*.opml) file in my mail. Unfortunately both Honeywell and my current organization have not been so friendly in promoting the use of " FREE TO USE " feed readers. Hence I have not been able to import my opml file into reader. But let me practice using google reader for now.
Ok thats a bit of history.
Now I still remember some of my favorite technical bloggers url. I happened to read one such blog. The author studied electronics and music , then graduated with Computer science bachelor and master degree. He was a part of a UK based band, and then stopped it all and came down to programming. Now he has been a programmer for last 13-14 years. He is an amazing programmer, I wish someday, I could be a bit atleast like him.
Recently he posted an article, where he said, he would quit programming, since he found his talent else where. That is music.
It kept me thinking and thinking. I am so much in favor of UK or US or any other country other than India. It allows you to lead a life of your own.
I have seen bikers, their fulltime passion for bikes, programmers and their dedication for coding for a period of over 25 years. I have seen musicians and their passion for music for their entire lifetime.
In other words, they all enjoy what they are doing and that too big time.
But here in India, people ask me to settle down in a a company. Do whatever work which comes to me, rather than do the work which interests me the most. People advise me not to change too many companies. And everywhere I go, people tell me you will end up as a manager in sometime. Forget about coding. Don't take it seriously.
I mean this is one thing which I do not like about Indian software industry. There is no scope nor respect for coders. Everyone who studies in an engineering college dreams of becoming a project manager someday. No one is interested in coding for more than 4 years.
If you code for more than many years, people think you are unfit to become a manager.
How about this for a career, I was wondering. What a lightyear gap between Indian market and those markets.
Someone please tell me how to pursue coding as a career for another 10-15 years. I am running out of time and answers.
Cheers,
As a developer I always loved to read blogs.

Hooking on to twitter via mobile
All of today has gone without me doing anything. I had gone to some furniture shop to select a computer table. But did not like any of them kept over there. Hence thought of going to another shop someother time.
Apart from that, I tried hooking up onto twitter using my Nokia 1100 mobile phone.
This was my second such attempt. Last time I tried, I could not succeed. But this time, I managed to do it. So am happy about my feat for the day :)

New Ad on the television
I was impressed with a new ad on the television. " Kuch Cheesey Jo Dikh Thi Hey, Aazmaane Par Kuch Zyaada He Hoti Hey " or a kind of catchy phrase introduces the ad.
It shows a vendor on the road signal accepts a currency note from a driver, for a newspaper or magazine which he is selling. When he crosses over the road to get the remaining amount, the lady driver feels he is eloping with her money. But promptly he returns it back.
How often have we been in such a situation. In particular me. We feel in two minds about the decision we have made especially monetary decisions.
For example, a tenant giving the owner rent in the form of a cheque, so as to keep a proof that rent is provided, in any case if the owner revolts about this. In reality the owner would have no thoughts of doing so, but thats how we are :)
I have been really concerned with every organization I have joined, but when you see my today, its because of working at all those organizations.
And yes first impression is not always the best impression. That is what the ad on TV depicts. How true. :)
Not many people agree with me on this. Everyone feels, first impression is the best impression.
Assume you have a bad first impression about a person. You may end up " NOT " speaking with that person for a whole lifetime. :)
Cheers.

The grass is always greener on the other side
Not sure how to convince myself. I always end up crying over spilled milk. Its one of the hardest things, I am yet to come over. Every now and then, I take one step ahead and start wondering whether, was this step required or not.
If you are wondering what I am talking about, I am talking about my new organization and some stuffs involved with it.
I joined a new organization. I had 2 offers on hand and decided to go with one of them. Now after travelling to ITPL for a week, I am wondering if I had selected the other offer, its workplace which was relatively closer than ITPL.
This is not the first time, I have ended up in this situation. The last time I joined Honeywell, I too had an alternate offer, and somewhere I ended up cribbing too.
But how long will I regret my decisions. I have full faith in God that he has guided me to the right direction. But having said that, why do I end up crying over spilled milk?
I really do not know. And yes the grass looks very green on the other side..
Esp when there is no travel to ITPL involved. :)

One of the so called ordinary week.
Its been a very quite week. I have joined a new organization on the 4th of January. Ideally speaking, I should be a very happy guy. A hike in the salary, a new workplace, lots of people to meet.
But it isn't. The travel to ITPL is pathetic. I thought it would be bad, but its worse than the worst.
Somehow I feel I have not made a wise decision.
I am praying to God to make me accustomed to this new organization and ITPL travel, else .. you it better :)

What am I blogging about ???
Its been almost 3 years since I started blogging. All the posts in this blog are about myself. Its been three years and still I am not tired. Sometimes I wonder, why do I post about myself. Why can't I give out some gyaan.
But the honest truth is I have never intended to share / give out any gyaan to others. May be I am not good enough for sharing gyaan or may be I dont have gyaan, you can take that for an excuse, I dont mind.
But I really did not know as to why I was blogging about my day to day topics. I surely did not have an answer for almost 3 years. But yesterday, I got to see one of the tweets of SRK.
After reading that I sure have a reason as to why I blog about my day to day routine.
Though I am not a celeb as SRK, but sure the tweet sounded apt for me..
SRK ::: " but my friend ______ insisted that i should learn to share my life. "
So I feel proud about my blog posts and I am happy that I finally found a strong backing reason to keep me blogging.

Pleasant surprise
I joined a new organization on 4th of January 2010. Everything was new over there. The induction did not happen. This was my fourth organization and everything over here felt weird.
In all of my previous organizations, I would be introduced to my team mates, guided to lunch, some topics of discussion would be there. But here it was different. I was in a meeting room going through some documents and was all for myself yesterday.
I indeed wrote some tweets about my frustration yesterday. But today there was a pleasant surprise in store. There is another new joinee along with me, whom I met while leaving the office yesterday evening. Infact I could not get much info about him.
But today was a different case. I found out that the other new joinee was a localite and we both started speaking in Kannada. It was one of those pleasant days after an ordinary day.
Everything I did today found a special meaning in itself. I did not get frustrated as much as I did yesterday.
Hoping for a still better day tomorrow.

New year, new organization, new tensions :)-
Its a brand new year. One of the most prominent things was my decision to join a new organization altogether.
It would never have been possible for me to make a move without the help of loads of people who are playing their part.
Would love to thank God, all my teachers for the knowledge they have blessed me with.
I would like to thank a lot of seniors in my current and previous organization, who have also helped with loads of queries on technical related stuffs.
Without your help, I would never have been able to clear any interviews.

Ride of the year
There were loads of good times, which I had during this year. Went out of Bangalore on 3 different occasions,
> Kodai,
> Dharawad,
> Hyderabad.
Though I enjoyed most of my outings, I still have one instance which will remain fresh in my mind. The ride which I went for at Ramoji Film City was the best. :) It was a ride of a lifetime.

Picture for the year and the story behind it...
This picture was taken in the University of Agricultural Sciences Dharwad. One of a kind picture, taken during one of a kind day.
It was 10pm in the night. We were wandering around the UAS campus in search of this particular guest house for our dinner.
We walked and walked but could not find the guest house. Finally we entered a neighboring locality or a small village kind of thing next to UAS campus. Still we could not locate this particular guest house.
When we took another route, there was a power failure and the whole campus was in darkness. Somehow we found the guest house, and had dinner before it closed (ie before 10:30pm) and returned.
It was so nice to get lost. And remember no one was there on the roads, since it was too late in the night as well..
I shall remember this day for a long long time.
Cheers,
PS: I added this picture on my Gtalk profile pic. My friend asked is this a jail. Remember the profile pic is too small. Then I showed the full pic and thought of blogging about this particular pic and is relevant story.
Love Dharwad. Nice place to be.. :)

No TV shows to watch
I absolutely loved Bigg Boss season #3. Watching it was great fun. The superb part of it was, me supporting a housemate, who finally ended up winning [Vindu Dara Singh]. I mean, it feels so good. All your SMSes, have not gone waste.
Now that Bigg Boss season #3, is over, there is a huge void. I am not sure what to see on television. Everyday I used to come early to watch BiggBoss. Hardly 2-3 days, in the 3 months I have missed Bigg Boss.
I need to find some interesting shows on TV to keep me entertained. Loads of movie channels are available, but still none of them matches the entertainment provided by BiggBoss housemate Vindu.

My pre-employment medical checkup.
Somedays, we need to jump and do tasks which, we are really reluctant about. One such day was today and one such task was my pre-employment medical checkup.
I am at home since Friday, 25 Dec 2009, doing literally nothing. 4 days have gone by. But I had not yet decided when to go about my medical checkup.
My medical checkup could be done at any of the two locations.
Wokhardt Hospital - Bannerghatta Road.
Wokhardt Hospital - Cunningham Road.
As per my senses I chose Bannerghatta road hospital by default, since its close to my house.
I woke up today morning and went to Bannerghatta road hospital, just to find out that I needed an appointment for a checkup. The next available slot was only on Monday 4th Jan 2010. But I have to join on 4th Jan 2010.
The last time I remember, I had been to a medical checkup at Wokhard Hospital and there was no appointment needed. But here on Bannerghatta Road hospital, the case was different. I was surprised, I did not want to go empty handed and come out once again for the medical test.
Instead, I called up the Cunningham Road Hospital, and to my surprise, there was no appointment needed, I went there straight got everything done and came home by around 12 30.
Isn't it surprising. I hated to go even to Bannerghatta Road, I was so lazy to go out of home and so much un-interested in medical checkups, now I ended up not only travelling to both the hospitals, but also have a sense of relief that, the prominent task for the week is over.
Phew.
Cheers,
PS:: I did have the telephone number for fixing up an appointment, but as per my prior knowledge I thought I could sneak in without an appointment. :)-

New theme.
Finally as the year ends, I thought of bringing in a new theme. Searched and searched, finally found a user friendly theme and uploaded it.
Still I am not happy with the archive part of it. Its not elaborate.

Bigg Boss Season 3, winner is Vindu Dara Singh
Wow. What a finish to Bigg Boss Season 3. It was one of the most awesome Bigg Boss Seasons. I have supported Vindu Dara Singh right from the beginning. Somehow, I felt amongst all housemates Vindu was the best.
And yes, today was the finale. Guess who won the Bigg Boss Season 3 crown, none other than Vindu Dara Singh. I am so happy, the good has prevailed.
Vindu Dara Singh was an exceptionally good person. Each member of my family was supporting him only.
Today he has won the BB3, and I cannot tell you guys, how much happy I am.
My 84 days of watching Bigg Boss has finally had a sweet result.

Big boss season #3, Finale
Tomorrow is the Bigg Boss Season 3 Finale. It has been a wonderful 3 months watching Big Boss. Many people told me, I am a fool watching Big boss. I wonder what made them say that. Though I did not watch the very first episode of Big Boss, I have been watching it regularly since then.
My favorite house mate of Big Boss season #3, is none other than Vindu Dara Singh. I have enjoyed his stay at the BB house. I have even sent SMS supporting him.
Now that the season is coming to an end, I wish to see him as the winner.

Thank you all.
I would like to thank all the people who have helped me during my stay at Honeywell. I sure not gonna take their names here. All my current team mates, current manager, have been very kind towards me.
I would like to thank my former team members, many of whom are on orkut. I would like to thank my ex-team lead/manager, in particular, for providing a laptop to work and flexi work timings. If without a laptop it would have been very difficult.
So thank you all guys..

Happy with myself
This week starting from 21 Dec 2009, to 24 Dec 2009, was one of the scariest weeks. It was kind of a tight situation for me.
In other words it was a hard working week for me. I was about to quit my organization on 24 Dec 2009. I had to complete loads of things.
The last Sunday when I wrote the post, it surely was heartfelt.
I am thankful to God for helping me to carry myself with grace and humility during the past week, without whom I would have landed in a tight situation. I wish he gives me still more strength. So now with a majority of work done, I am nothing but happy with myself.
So now its not only a new year 2010 for me, loads of things are new as well.
Cheers.

Goodbye HTS
Yesterday was my last working day of the year 2009. It also happens to be my last working day @ Honeywell. I had joined Honeywell on 5 March 2008, so it ended on 24 Dec 2009.
Initially during my notice period found it very easy to go about things. But yesterday one of my friend's asked me a question, how can you quit after working together for 2 years. I mean, it was a very difficult question to answer. Infact I had no answer.
I have left behind all those friends whom I have worked with over the last 1 year 10 months or so. I wish them all the very best for their future career.
Though its going to be my fourth company in less than 5 yrs. I still am not feeling that happy.
Somehow I have realized that this job and stuffs are just a part and parcel of our lives. The core thing is how much we enjoy ourselves in it.
I feel we need to enjoy ourselves while at work and we need to do what we love. There is no point being someone else.
PS:: Coming to the point of doing what you love, I always have loved to drive heavy vehicles, like loaded trucks etc though I have not got a chance. Does it mean that I have to become a professional driver?
Difficult question, but I have a simple answer, I love coding, debugging and learning new Microsoft Technologies, so I am enjoying my job as programmer as well.
Cheers & Merry Xmas.

Life's like that..
This is supposed to be my last working day for the year 2009. I am at home for the whole of next week, starting from 24 Dec 2009, to 3 Jan 2010. Though I have a taken a long week off, I do not have any plans for a trip. I had planned to buy a PC for the last week of December and start gaming. But that idea did not work out.
Now I am sitting in the library of my office and blogging. This week is a memorable week for me. It signifies not only my last working day, of 2009, but also the last working day at my present organization.
I only pray that I get relieved today so that I can join an altogether new organization for the year 2010.
Cheers,
PS:: If I had not resigned from my current organization I would have started planning for loads of things. Now I have no plans waiting for the year to get over.

Hardworking Sunday...
Its been a truly hardworking Sunday for me. Apart from doing office work I have done loads of additional work. I mean, what I am saying is heart felt, I ve worked very hard to complete some tasks.
This week is a memorable week for me. The tide is either going to swing in my way or I am going to end up as a loser. Only time will tell.
I am seriously tensed as the Monday is approaching. I shall blog about in detail about what I am talking sometime later.
As of now, I have loads of concerns for the coming week.
I pray to God to give me more strength. Please God help me carry myself with more humility.
Cheers.

100th post for the year 2009.
It feels superb. I have been able to post 100 posts for the second consecutive year. Yippy. I would like to thank God for keeping me alive and kicking all through 2009. I wish 2010 brings in more happiness for everyone.

Stuck in the moment
Its been quite a tiring week for me. I had loads of work to do. Lots of things had to be set right. But the sad part is, the whole thing is not done yet. It shall go deep into the weekend. Tomorrow I have to give my car for first service.
Its night 12:30 am and I am awake commenting on the Big Boss Season#3, blog, praising Vindu Dara Singh. I wish he wins.
Tomorrow is our company Annual Day. I had a very funny incident when it comes to Annual Day. The year was 1998. I was in 10th Standard. We had Annual day. As usual, I bunked the school's annual day. Unfortunately we had an attendance sheet that day and the whole absentees had been tracked out.
And can you guess the outcome. Yes, I was SUSPENDED from school, for a day, for not attending Annual Day.
I still do not attend Annual day functions. These days, they are not mandatory anymore.
Yes, gone are the golden days of schooling.
Cheers,

Big Boss Season #3, Day 68
It all started when I came to know that Mr Amitabh Bachchan would host the Big Boss Season #3. I feel hearing his name associate with the show brought a whole lot of audience. One among them was me. I am a huge fan of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.
Its been 68 days, I have enjoyed each and every episode. I come running home early just to catch Big Boss Season 3. Day 68 has been an exceptional day.
There was so much twist to the tale. I ended up throwing my remote control onto the sofa and vowed never to watch Big Boss again. The reason being simple, my favorite person in the show, Vindu Dara Singh was voted out of the show, not by DESH KA ADESH, but by the participants who felt he was the most probable person to win the show.
I immediately said to my parents, its the end the road, no more Season #3, Big boss from today onwards. But at the end of the show came to know, Vindu was not voted out of Big boss, instead, he is kept in a separate room, but still in the competition.
That is such a huge relief. Loong live Vindu Dara Singh.. I am so happy. I shall continue to watch Big boss. If only Vindu gets ousted before winning, I shall stop watching the show.
Cheers,
What a rocking Friday..

Back tweeting
Over the weekend, somehow I recollected my password for my Twitter account and I am redebuting over there.
Now I am realizing its been 8 months since I last tweeted. I have a good memory. I still can recollect my password. Thats a feat.
So now trying to tweet through mobile. The site says, the cost is none. Let me try it out.
I hope I do not tweet my frustrations out over there

Loong weekend
Yup, its been a very long weekend for me. I was unwell for the last 2 working days of the week. So its 2+2 days. I am in a situation where in I am not supposed to take leaves. But I could not avoid it, since I was very much down with fever, flu, throat pain.
Me taking leaves has added to the complexity of the scenario. Now I am wondering about the effect it is going to have on me, my plans. I sure will blog about it in the month of Jan 2010.
As of now, enjoying my weekend, reading Tintin -> 7 crystal balls & prisoners of the son.
I drove my vehicle today for around 20 kms. It sure looks cool.
Watched Big Boss Season 3 yesterday, I just love it. I am wondering what will I watch once Big Boss Season 3 gets over. I wish and hope that Vindu Dara Singh wins Season #3. He sure is an awesome guy.
Cheers,

Day 4 - Birla Mandir, Chowmahalla Palace, CharMinar
Day 3 - Ramoji Film City - I just loved it.. Post 1
Marriage Day - 22 Nov 2009.
I woke up around 4 am in the morning. Did not find anyone awake at that time, so slept again for 40 more minutes and again woke up at 5 am and had bath.
The Muhurtham was at 8 am so there was plenty of time for me to catch some sleep. Slept for some time and then chatted with cousins. At around 7 10 am I left for Lord Venkateshwara temple which was located next to the Marriage Hall. After coming from the temple I went straight to the marriage hall, took some snaps and then went for breakfast.
Since I had slept very less the previous night I began to start feeling drowsy in the marriage hall. I slept there in bits and pieces, clicking photos time and again. Finally it was lunch time and I had a heavy meal consisting of North Indian dishes.
Finally checked out of the marriage hall into a hotel.
It was indeed a pleasure being a part of the marriage. I had whole lot of fun during the marriage. Altogether a memorable experience.

Me @ Hyderabad for cousin's marriage - Marriage Eve
On 20 Nov 2009, I left Bangalore for Hyderabad, the reason being to attend my cousin's marriage. I had applied for 4 days leave at the office for attending the marriage (2days) and visiting places in and around Hyderabad for another 2 days.
The marriage went well. Infact it went really well. On 21 Nov 2009, during the evening time when there was Vara Pooja, there was a procession, along with it there was a country band. I danced for almost 2 hours on the roads of Hyderabad. It was altogether total fun, with lots of crackers n stuffs.
Finally the procession ended at around 11pm in the night and the Vara Pooja formalities begun.
The dinner was around 12 pm and I slept around 1pm in the marriage hall itself.

Hope to write some over this weekend.

Updates from my side
Looong time since I actually blogged. Loads of things have happened over the past two weeks. Firstly me, being absolutely bugged at work.
Secondly, I turned 26 on Oct 30.
Its been close to a month since I have booked Indica Vista Tdi, and I am yet to take the delivery of the car. Hopefully next week.
I am reading the book, The Complete Short stories of Ernest Hemmingway. The book seems to be way beyond my understanding. I have to go through each chapter atleast 3-4 times to get a hang of what is going around. In any case that wont happen, so most probably I would finish the book reading each story once atleast. :)
My friends have read my blog and the post about booking an Indica Vista. Though I wanted to keep it a secret, it has come out in the open. I was kind of embarrased when my friends came to know about the booking through the blog. I wanted to tell them after I had brought it.
Well, most people have ridiculed my decision about buying this car, and also buying diesel with monthly running of less than 300 kms.
But do I care ? No. I love diesel cars and my heart will always prefer diesel car only, no matter whats the amount of running per month.
Cheers,

The rock band, which am fond of
I have a strange topic name. I do not how what topic to write for this particular post. I love so many rock bands. One among them is The Police.
I started loving The Police even more after the Global Earth 7/7/7/ concert.
Soon I came to know that my father is also a fan of The Police.
Not sure whether I have written about this before. But looks cool rite, same rock band influencing 2 generations.

My Transport Update
Just wanted to update about the crazy little situation I am into.
My company people organized a Tata Sumo which drops me at my pickup point itself.
The cab is scheduled at 6:20 pm, but there is a clause with it.
The cab will ply only if I come at 6:20 pm. If not... Well as of now I do not know about this situation. I hope it will ply in my absence was well.

Booked an Indica Vista Terra Tdi
Finally, I have decided to go in for a new car. Its none other than Tata Indica Vista Terra Tdi.
My budget was 4 - 4.2 lakhs.
Loads of options were available when it came to petrol vehicles. But when it came to diesel vehicle, only a single vehicle stood above the rest. It was none other than Tata Indica Vista Terra Tdi. The on-road price for me comes to Rs 3,82,000. Ain't it awesome. Its literally at the price of a petrol car.
And remember its a diesel car. No other diesel (new) cars are available at this price. I could have gone for the Indica DLS. But somewhere I read, Vista had loads of improvements compared to DLS. And it was mere 15-20k more than DLS.
I always have loved to drive a diesel. Though I have not driven Indica Vista, I still booked the car. I have driven the " naturally aspirated " indica DLS. I have never felt what turbo kick is. Soon I shall blog about it.
I am happy about my decision. The car does not have a tachometer, no power windows, no 60-40 rear seat split. But do I mind all of these. Never. I will opt for 5 spoke alloy wheels. Also inquired about Bull bar. Got to know, its not a part of standard Tata equipment. That makes me disappointed. With a 14-inch tubeless tyre I am more than happy. (I feel petrol variant comes with 13 -inch tyres.)
But all in all, I feel a real value for money car.
I did it on a Saturday. I am deeply indebted to Lord Shani. And hence I wanted to do this on a Saturday only. Hope he keeps me going.

Thoughts of buying a new car
Ever since, I could not finalize on the used Scorpio, I have not been able to find interest in looking out for used cars. Yes, I may not use a car as a daily commute to work. An used car could have chipped in, but now I have thoughts of buying a new car.
Thoughts of buying an used car
Today was an eventful day for me. I did lot ,learnt loads infact. I recently saw an ad in my company intranet, about a Scorpio for sale. The Scorpio was about 5 year old and done about 50k kms. The asking price was Rs 435000.
Though, till date, I never had thought of owing such a huge vehicle, I somehow made all the guts and courage in the world to interact with the owner.
Since he was from the same company as I am, I could easily approach him for the vehicle inspection. The date was fixed, ie today.
I recently got my driving test completed, and I did not have an inch idea of what to do. But somehow mustered enough courage to visit a nearby mechanic seeking help.
The mechanic was quite helpful, and I visited the house of the person, who was selling his vehicle. I was quite impressed with the car. It was in mint condition.
I told the mechanic to go ahead and have a look at the vehicle. He did. In about 20 mins time, the inspection was done and I was ready to go back home.
After coming back the mechanic told me to go for the vehicle only if the price is brought down to 3.8 lakhs.
Some of the key observations which the mechanic told me was:
> Though the owner insisted the vehicle had run for 50k kms, mechanic told me the vehicle had well run over 1 lakh kms.
> The seats were all neat and redone. The mechanic told me this situation comes only if the seats are worn out, and they wear out only if its used too much. So the question of 50k kms was far from thought.
I was also advised to drive a smaller vehicle before buying such a huge vehicle. Though I have always loved to drive the Mahindra Bolero, it seems that day is far too away.
I am literally confused on what is to be done. But I feel my plans of having a Bolero / Scorpio have just been flushed out and I need to re-think on what I really need to buy.
I have been given a green signal for an Indica. But now I am running low on confidence. I need to gather all the courage in the world to buy a car.
Cheers,

Read a new book, in a single day
I am so happy today, I started reading a new book today morning and finished it by afternoon, isn't it impressive. On the contrary, I do have another book which I have been reading since a month.
The book which I read in a single day, is " How to Handle your BOSS ".
It definitely tells us about some nice tricks, to handle your bosses.
It sure was a good read.
And yes today is "Gandhi Jayanthi". Proud to be an Indian :)

Company transport
It seems weird, but I always end up having a panga with company transport guys. Be it my first company , second or third, there seems to be no pickup and drop facility close to my house.
@ Wipro, the shuttle used to go via Uttarahalli Road, but they refused to give a stop / pickup point, I had to walk around 1.5 kms just to reach the pickup point, which made me quit Wipro (yes I uploaded my CV because of this ).
@ Honeywell, I do have a pickup point close to my house, but the drop point is 3kms away from my place. Have you ever imagined about such a scenario where in you are picked up at some place and dropped at some other place. I mean it looks silly and weird, but I am at the recieving end of it.

Junk food at office
I saw an advertisement on the televison, about a lady eating pani puri and the vendor advising her about the ill effects of junk food. About improper digestion, burping etc etc.
So, I was wondering, after moving to new campus, I have easy access to Junk Food every evening. though I eat only once / twice a week (which is tooo much), I had an idea of intaking fibre by having Oats or Cornflakes? I hope I do not end up with an upset stomach.
What say??

Driving test
Today was my driving test. I needed loads of luck and confidence.
Yes, with loads of luck, "GuruBala" and Gods grace, I cleared it.
There were 12 people who had to drive. The instructor stood in the main road, watching them drive. But when my turn came, I had to drop him back to the RTO. Hence he came along in the car with me.
Frankly speaking, I did not have any issue, on my mind, about what if the engine stalls. And believe me, I took a U turn and drove amidst traffic, even in 4th gear.
My instructor was stunned, coz he thought I was a dumb guy.
Yes, the lesson I learnt was, if we stop worrying about end results, we can perform better.
Worrying about engine stalling, and other stuffs, would have led me to nowhere.

Watched a movie in a cartoon channel
Watched Jab We Met on Pogo TV. I was surprised to see Jab We Met being aired on Pogo. Could not make any reason behind it, considering the channel is meant for kids.
Later came to know some of the adult scenes and adult words were edited/removed.
Surprise, Surprise, isn't it??

Driving classes - Session # 13.
Today, was my 13th session, I am 5 sessions away from finishing them all. No clues on buying a car yet. I drove today after almost 2 weeks. But I felt little bit high on confidence. I drove amidst very very heavy traffic. But still managed with one or two hiccups here and there.
I shall take my test this Friday, I need to bunk office for that.
Let me see.
Cheers.

Driving classes - Session # 12 as on 5th Sept 2009
Though my Driving class Session 12, was dated 5 September 2009, I could not blog about it, since I found nothing encouraging in that particular session. I drove amidst heavy traffic. But I was bit sad about my driving. I then postponed taking driving sessions for about 2 weeks, till today ie 21 September 2009, due to some urgent official work.
So as on 5th September 2009, I am quite quite, upset about my driving skills,.

Stuck in the moment
Its been a looong weekend, but a boring one. Its almost 20 days, but still I am not able to complete reading the book which I had begun.
I have two more books queued up in line, but lacking the enthusiasm these days.
Travel is taking up loads of my time. And I end up doing nothing on weekdays.
I feel as though I am staring at a deep pit full of shit, my future seems to be dull, black and full of boring days.
Feels like I am stuck in the moment.
But I would like to thank God for keeping me alive and kicking. I just hope these boring days just pass away, and I hope I shall be back blogging about my happy days.
Cheers.

Is blogging ur heart out, controversial ???
I was today wondering, whether, this power to express ourselves and publish it, controversial?
Here and there I find examples, where people have landed up in soup, because of blogging, though they have not blogged anything hatred.
But, but, such is life.
I have blogged about something which ends up with visitors from all parts of the planet.
Yes, I have written about SJBIT. Do a google search for yourself, with the word, SJBIT, you will find my post. Though my post is heartfelt, (nothing bad I have written), I am still scared, what reaction it invokes to the reader.
I wish some of my fond teachers, read through that and comment. I would be on moon :)

What am I reading?
My driving classes have been suspended till next Monday. The plan is to take the remaining 7 sessions on consecutive days and wind up with a Driving License test at the RTO.
Looks crisp. Hope I gain more confidence in myself, by next Saturday.
So having loads of time, I recently finished reading a Perry Mason mystery book.
So thought of starting with a new one. This time it is Ayn Rand - We The Living.
Hoping to finish it soooon..

Watching ad's on the television
Today, the whole day, I was at home. I watched a whole lot of stuffs on the television. Watched an advertisement on the television, which showcased, a boy and a guy, who had not taken any sick leave over the past year and have won accolades in their school and workplace respectively.
I was wondering whether, have I ever been through such a year, and yes, to be frank and honest, in my 8th standard, I had not taken a single sick leave. Not that I was not all that fit and healthy, but somehow too much of luck was on my side.
But what I feel is, it a waste trying to attend school/ office all the days.. Sometimes we need time all for ourselves. Weekends are perfectly alright. What I have figured out is a leave on a weekday is equal to nothing else. I feel its the best way to recharge.
And yes, during my 10th standard, the leaves which I took went, up to 15, for the whole year, and that is another kind of a feat in itself.
Cheers,
