All these years i had a fixed routine.
Home , School / College , Play / Freak out , Study ..
It was late in 2002 , that all of a sudden i realized ,I could squeeze in something new into it . I had a passion for gym workouts , a passion which was hidden deep inside me for all these years . The truth is I lacked an opportunity to nurture it.
I soon realized ,there was a ray of hope , which was bright enough to wake my hibernated passion. I had ample time to study , freak out , sleep , since the college was close to my house , the travel time was as minimal as 10 mins.
This sure looked like a chance to pursue something which i was really interested in. I soon figured out that the nearest gym was 3 kms away from my house. It required some travelling before i could get there. But I was never taken back. Nothing could stop me from exercising , i thought . It sure seemed so.
I got enrolled to the nearest gym. One thing left was to decide my routine. Was it gonna be 3 days a week or 5 days a week. To my surprise it turned out to be a 7 day routine. Yes , i was exercising all days of the week.
I soon got to meet new people , all from different professional backgrounds , different age groups. This habit of mine , sure added a new dimension to my life. I got to meet a whole new bunch of people from different backgrounds and soon gained insight into how they would go about their daily routine
Within no time , i was enjoying working out in a gym, more than ever before. It helped me to ease stress. I was helping other guys out , while working with weights, as well as took others support when it was my turn.
I was wondering why was I away from the gym for many years.
My morning schedule was quite simple. Exercise in the morning and then proceed to college.
This schedule remained the same till May 2004 , after which i had lost my focus on workouts. I had switched gears and was focusing to be a professional. I thought once I land up with a job , I sure would get back to the gym within no time.
But this dint turn out to be true. Its almost two years since I have turned a pro , but am not finding enough time for a regular workout.
I hope i someday would join an organization , close enough to my house , so that i could dedicate two hours in the morning for a round of workout.
A Much Awaited Break !!!
It was mid 2003 , i had almost completed four semesters of my engineering. I was awaiting a much needed break from my daily routine.
It was then, that i stumbled upon the idea of , a weekend getaway. Away from Bangalore would be perfect recipe i thought.
To my surprise , a similar thought for a weekend getaway , had just been highlighted by my aunt. Within no time , there was a plan in place . A plan which included a one day outing , visiting places around Bangalore City.
The place was decided to be Sangama & Mekedaatu. Yes you heard it right..
Sangama is a place where there is a merge of river Arkavati with Kaveri.
Mekedaatu is a place about 5 kms from Sangama. You can trek your way to Sangama .
The day begin as usual with the hired Tempo Traveller , being late by an hour. We were total 8 adults + 4 small kids on board. There was ample space for everyone in the vehicle.
Soon we all forgot our worries of being late and were enthusiastic , looking forward , for the day , which sure had plenty of surprises.
The van picked up speed as it began cruisin on Kanakapura Road. I was feeling altogether different this day. I had totally forgotten , that , my internals were soon approaching. But there was no time to think about it , for , it had taken almost 5 years , since i had been , out of Bangalore , on a hired vehicle , visiting places , i only once thought of.
After certain distance on Kanakapura Road , we stopped for breakfast. The sun shone brightly. It was turning out to be an awesome day. My joy knew no bounds.
As we moved on , we came across many villages on the way. It was Bangalore Rural . We were not much kilometers away from Bangalore , but these villages , bore a distinctive traditional look. Probably the villages were on their own , unaware of the fast development of a new civilization , in the neighborhood.
All of a sudden our vehicle reduced speed and in a few moments it was still . I was anxious , to know whats in store. It was one of the villages , after Kanakapura. To my surprise there was huge crowd gathered , in front of , what appeared to be a village community hall.
There were hoards of people, standing roadside, hence the traffic movement had slowed down. As our vehicle slowly moved on , I noticed the people had gathered for a marriage. There was excitement all around. I saw happiness all around. It appeared as though the entire village was witnessing a mega event.
The joy , happiness i saw in the eyes of those villagers was unparallel , not to be compared , something which was very unique , and i thought , such a thing was very scant in a materialistic life , which we were leading .
I thought, as technology advanced , we only had gizmos , gadgets to offer to the rest of the world. With hatred and jealousy surrounding us , we had nothing truly natural to boast about. I felt people in the modern civilization , always wore a mask , a mask , which never fell or gave away , which portrayed happiness , true love , while deep inside their heart there was unrest , a never ending worry about future , unwilling to be content with what they had , wanting more ....
Here were a bunch of people , void of Technology , unaware of recent developments , who taught a major lesson , by portraying that " Life is all about relationships , love , how much u give and how much u take , rather than sheer materialism ". This truly inspired me in many ways .
It was noon , when we reached Sangama. Soon we headed out to Mekedaatu which is about 5 kms from Sangama. Thank god there was an alternative mode of transport available , other than trekking. Now the sun was at its peak.
After an hours time we were back , at Sangama , having loads of fun in the cool water. It was something which I was devoid for many years .
We spent some more time and headed back to Bangalore.
It was almost 6:30 pm , when we reached the Art of Living Center , located on Kanakapura Road. This according to me is the most soothing place in and around Bangalore City. No doubts over that.
There was peace a plenty , at this place , and i was a huge fan of this place , at the very first instance. There was a sense of relief in me , as I was feeling de-stressed , cheerful , was filled with plenty of energy , ready to take on the world .
Soon we headed back to Bangalore . Thinking of my wonderful day , i was lonely sitting in the last seat of the van. No sooner i found myself , immersed , in the same materialistic world.
The same old regular routine. Back to college i thought. But a change was truly memorable in many ways
This outing , occupies a center stage , in the chapter of my life , as it lead to other series of memorable excursions. Hip Hip Hurray !!!
The saddest part is till date i have not got a chance to visit the Art of Living Center , for the second time . Hope this day , soon, makes its way.

A surpise guest , A stranger ??? or Another Friend For Life ???
The year 2001 had loads in store for me. I was running through my engineering semesters like a WhirlWind. Within no time I had completed two semesters.
It was almost the last quarter of 2002. I was having loads of fun @ college. The frequency of our evening walks had almost tripled , since the time we started it.
These days , I was not only spending my Saturday evenings , walking along the streets of BEML Layout , but also those weekdays , when we had a half day off , was thrown wide open , to pitch in , as makeshift Saturdays. We had as much fun on these days as on weekends.
Soon in the month of October 2002 my Third Semester classes started. Hardly a fortnight into my third semester , i noticed one thing. The strength of my class increased by 3.
Three new people joined my class , all of them were Diploma Candidates. Among the three, one person stood out. He was none other than Narayan GK.
Narayan GK was a down to earth guy, his thoughts were as clear and transparent as spring water. People could recognise Narayan as the most humble , modest guy around .
He had loads of expertise behind him , but, yet stood as simple as he could.
He had tremendous knowledge not only in software but also hardware. He was a trained " HARDCORE " hardware and networking guy with an year of professional experience in this field.
One thing I try to learn from Narayan to this date , is his temperment , attitude. He was as cool as the frozen ice of alaska. There were many major events, involving him , that happened during his engineering days , but none of them shook him.
Great Going Narayan. !!!!! Three Cheers. !!!!
Narayan was a resident of my neighboring locality , this proved an added advantage, coz he joined our friends circle on Saturdays. Soon we were 3 in number walking , chatting and having great food on Saturdays.
These memorable days were short lived , as in 2004 we had to part ways due to unavoidable circumstances.
Narayan also completed his graduation, and is currently busier than any of we guys. He s too pursuing a career in the field of IT . He s now put up in Central Bangalore. Though he no more accompanies us , on Saturdays , on our evening walk, the awesome memories of 2002 - 2004 , are sure enough to fill this vacuum.
Narayan I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Remember one thing " We are friends for Life ".
There s gonna be one day when we are gonna freak out harder than ever before.

The Necessity for " An evening Walk "
2001 was fast becoming a memorable year, in my life. I was close to completing a semester of my engineering. I was now travelling more frequently to Kranti Vikram's house to discuss about our engineering subjects. It was on one fine evening , to be more precise a week before our CCP [Computer Concepts & C Programming ] Lab external exam that i visited his house . We were studying for weeks together and needed a break. Discussing college life and other stuff , playing computer games did not provide much needed break. On this very evening we decided to take a casual stroll along the streets of BEML Layout 5th stage.
Least had I expected , that this would turn into a major pastime. It not only provided us the much needed break , but also gave us an opportunity to explore our surroundings , meet new people, in other words FREAK OUT !!
BEML Layout RajaRajeshwariNagar has not undergone a major change in the past 4 years apart from a slight increase people density.
The one prominent change I noticed in BEML Layout , is the the presence of a new park , on a piece of land which once appeared of little use , covered by weeds. The park has sprung all of a sudden and it adds a new dimension to our evening walk these days.
We casually moved out on to the streets discussing our engineering subjects. Soon we approached Double Road where we came across a Bhel Puri vendor. We did give our taste buds a little exercise , but it was memorable and even to this day we cherish the thought of having CHAAT @ DOUBLE ROAD , BEML L/O RajarajeshwariNagar.
Day after Day our visits to the street side Chat store increased. Above this we were joined by new friends. Soon our friends circle grew and soon we were not the only two at the Street Chat Center but now more often accompanied by surprise visitors ( Nitin Kumar UK and Narayan GK who has yet to make an appearance in the blog. )
Even to this day we go on an evening walk along the streets of BEML Layout . Inspite of our busy lives we take time to hook up during weekends esp Saturday to make some time for an evening walk.
Some people call us crazy, for doing the same things over and over again. But be rest assured , this is gonna be the same , for years to come, until one of us moves onsite.
After all spending your Saturday evening @ a place where the number of people per sq ft area < = 1
(away from city , pollution , traffic , noise ) , is not such a bad idea , infact its an awesome idea.
Thanks guys (UKN and Kranti ) for keeping the trend ticking.

Early days of my engineering
During my early engineering days i made loads of new friends. Some of them were
Kranti Vikram , Veeresh Shalamath , Vasimullah Shariff , Santhosh S , Shivaramakrishna and not to forget the ever so studious Nitin Kumar UK aka UKN.It was a great team out there , hanging out , freaking out in our own awesome ways during college hours. Being in remote area one would wonder for options , for freaking out. But there were plenty.
First being taking a break and moving towards the small shop close to Mylasandra where we used to have a casual conversation over a cup of tea. No one to disturb ,, we used to see a few trucks which would pass by this road, but other than that ,, there was total silence ...
The second option to freak out was to move to Kengeri where a lone hotel stood in the Kengeri Shopping Complex. Those days there was an awesome shade all along the Kengeri Main Road, all thanks to the large number of huge trees along the main road. Nowadays you find a bald landscape as you approach Kengeri. Most of them have been cut off to make way for a bigger Mysore Road.
The third option was an extension of the second. A drive from our college to Kengeri would ease out stress from our soul. The road was once so empty that we used to park our vehicles and literally sit on the road side for a casual conversation.

2001, the year of reckoning
The year 2001 had many surprises in store. Some of them, which i least anticipated.
First being my admission into an engineering college.
The First thing which comes to my mind when i think of my college is the road which leads to our college. There was no asphalt. I still remember the year 2001 had excess rainfall in the month of October - November . The road literally turned into an " Inclined Swamp " where both humans as well as his inventions had a tough time mounting as well as dismounting.
The first year of my college was turning out to be as memorable as it could be , new friends , new college, empty roads leading from Kengeri to Uttarahalli and above all a remote location far from city traffic , pollution. I couldn't have been at a better place than this. May be my disastrous performance in CET was not after all that disastrous.
Second surprise was the launch of Bangalore's First Private Radio Station - Radio City 91 FM in July 2001 . The ads of Radio City read " No Electricity Try Radio City ". Radio City filled in the gap which was empty for almost 7 years.
I was a huge fan of ABBA , U2 , Bon Jovi , Bangles , Madonna , Billy Joel , but it was almost like ages since I heard these legends. With the introduction of Radio City there was a new ray of hope. To my surprise Radio City was not restricted to Hindi music.
I not only got to listen to all of the above artists but i became a huge fan of many other artists , Incubus , Goo Goo Dolls , Evanescence , Linkin Park , Our Lady Peace.
" Radio City u Rock "
Third suprise which was in store for me was the best of the above. Meeting a new friend by name Kranti Vikram A . I call this one as the best , as this led to a great chain of other memorable events ( which i will shortly write) . Kranti Vikram is a resident of my neighboring locality. Travelling to his house took a mere 10 mins. To this day this has been an added advantage.
These three were the most prominent events which took the center stage of my life during the year 2001 , which I initially thought to be dreadful , but was turning out to be fruitful.
My learning curve suddenly took a great turn in the year 2001. I slowly realised that there was so much life was offering me , and i thought two hands were not sufficient to grab them.
I immensely thank god for all that he has given me.
To summ it up;
-> a new college , with hope a to pursue a career in IT
-> a special new friend who would be a true source of inspiration for the rest of my life
-> a location away from city ensuring awesome soothing effect.
-> loads of friends @ college
The year 2002 had more in store for me which i will write shortly

Intro
Chapter 2 of my life dedicated to two of my friends who have made Chaper 2 of my life memorable. Thanks u guys : Kranti Vikram A and Nitin Kumar UK.
I would also like to thank two other persons who inspired me to write a blog.
Robin Sharma and his book " The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari "
Arvind Nagaraja - my awesome buddy , senior @ workplace and above all an awesome down to earth human being.
So here it goes -
Chapter 2 , of my life dates back to 2001 , when i was an another ordinary guy , quite upset over the dismal performance in CET , hopin to get a admission into an engineering college , dreamin of a career in the field IT.
I never knew the Chapter 2 of my life would be so much interesting, so much in store . After moving from Malleshwaram to a remote area, there was one change in me which was automatic. My temper had dropped.
After gaining admission into an Engineering college, i was a relieved man. I joined an engineering college 4.5 kms away from my house. Alas , I thought, i was in the right path. Though was worried about the placements, i just thought there was a long way to go before i turned a pro .
